Scott McLaughlin grew up in a small Southern California town surrounded by dairy farms, ranches and horse shows. Scott’s love for music began with listening to the classic rock stylings of Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band on the radio. His passion for country music took off like a rocket after receiving his first guitar from his father at age 13. Heavily influenced by Garth Brooks’ album “In Pieces” and Fleetwood Mac’s “The Dance”, Scott began writing and performing his own music in high school. While attending college, Scott continued to hone his music and vocal talent forming several bands and actively performing throughout Southern California. Ultimately encouraged by his parents, Scott took a leap of faith and dedicated all of his time and efforts to his music career.
After forming The Scotty Mac Band, Scott went to Nashville and recorded his debut EP, Messin Around, stylistically blending the contemporary sounds of modern country with the traditional instrumentation and story telling lyrics of the genre’s roots.
