The Pulse specializes in entertaining audiences with instrumental versions of R&B, pop and jazz standards. Founded by Christopher CJ and Gaku Murata, this five-piece band focuses on engaging and serenading listeners with high-energy performances. Saxophonist Christopher CJ is a former professional ballet dancer who now sets his sights on music. Guitarist Gaku Murata is a Berklee College of Music graduate, songwriter, engineer and producer. Drummer Abe Gearig, keyboardist Marshall Thompson and bassist Carlitos Cuba round out the band’s multicultural mix. Based in Los Angeles, this crowd-pleasing group was formed during the making of CJ’s debut EP, “Sunset Songs.” His cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” has been played on more than 50 radio stations across the U.S. and Europe.
